Implantable Antenna for the Future

Do you believe an implantable antenna will be able to work for humans? There have been a lot of films made depicting how the future would be like in terms of how humans think, the infrastructure they can create and what highly advanced technology they can develop. If it sounds so impossible for many people, there are already signs that the future’s advancement is slowly taking shape. One proof is the ongoing development of different medical chip implants or implantable antenna.

In the medical field, the need for remote monitoring of patients has always been an interesting topic. The development of implantable antenna is seen as a possibility to address this need. This device used 402-405Mhz Medical Implant Communications Service (MICS) frequency band and will be implanted inside a person’s body. It works by signaling any abnormalities on the person’s system like his heart rate, metabolism and the likes. Since its wireless, a doctor can easily monitor the patient remotely.

This research on implantable antenna (and perhaps other medical chip implants) may be drawing a lot of interest but it also creates questions to many people as to its would-be efficacy in providing data. More time to perfect this “grand idea” is required most especially since it deals with people’s health. If it will ever be formally introduced and used only time will tell but for now, the world can just hope for the best.
