First Glimpse at the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid

First seen at the recently concluded International CES event in Las Vegas, the Lenovo IdaPad U1 Hybrid is really a showstopper in its truest sense. It received one of the nine Best of CES Awards – Best in Computer and Hardware.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 almost looks similar to the newest model of laptops released last year but the idea behind it is rather complex and multifunctional at the same time. First of all, it has two parts, it has a “snapdragon-powered” OS tablet that is very solid and polished-looking. Weight and thickness is generally acceptable. It has speaker, webcam, video player, 3G and Bluetooth. It also has orientation switching features much like how you use an iPhone and this makes it really special to have.

The detached base automatically boots up to Windows 7 once the tablet is connected to it. Now the Lenovo IdeaPad functions like typical laptop anyone uses for internet browsing, creating documents, playing music videos and the likes. Separately though, Lenovo mentioned the two can run in parallel to each other. So one can really use either of the two whenever he pleases (just supply a monitor to the base).

This pioneering Lenovo laptop is said to hit the market by the second quarter but confirmation still awaits Lenovo users and laptop buffs.
