First seen at the recently concluded International CES event in Las Vegas, the Lenovo IdaPad U1 Hybrid is really a showstopper in its truest sense. It received one of the nine Best of CES Awards – Best in Computer and Hardware.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 almost looks similar to the newest model of laptops released last year but the idea behind it is rather complex and multifunctional at the same time. First of all, it has two parts, it has a “snapdragon-powered” OS tablet that is very solid and polished-looking. Weight and thickness is generally acceptable. It has speaker, webcam, video player, 3G and Bluetooth. It also has orientation switching features much like how you use an iPhone and this makes it really special to have.

The detached base automatically boots up to Windows 7 once the tablet is connected to it. Now the Lenovo IdeaPad functions like typical laptop anyone uses for internet browsing, creating documents, playing music videos and the likes. Separately though, Lenovo mentioned the two can run in parallel to each other. So one can really use either of the two whenever he pleases (just supply a monitor to the base).

This pioneering Lenovo laptop is said to hit the market by the second quarter but confirmation still awaits Lenovo users and laptop buffs.

Many reports have published details of an emerging Apple tablet pc during the past years. To everyone’s delight, many new reports are coming out that the rumors are true and this new product may actually be seen by 2010.

The Apple pad or tablet pc with a combined feature of an iPod Touch and Macbook, as some would say, is allegedly expected to be finalized by the first quarter of next year. The word of an Apple tablet pc production began after many instances of Apple having supposed talks with chip makers and telecommunications carrier/s for future products the company can launch.

If these developments will push through, Apple notebook as well as iPhone users will find this product a very interesting piece of gadget to grab. Cost of an Apple tablet pc is said to be on a high ceiling rate as of now but nobody can predict it until all the features of the rumored tablet pc are released to the public. If the release pushes through, 2010 will mark another breathtaking year for Apple Macbook users all around the globe.
